Take That! Take That! Take That!

Luke 7:38, 48, 50

Worship is a natural response to God’s supernatural goodness.

We worship God by being faithful stewards of:

·        Our time
“Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm          90:12)

·        Our talent
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully        administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

·        Our treasure
“Remember this: Whosoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows    generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his            heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And    God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21)

In view of who God is and what He’s done, we bring an offering. WE are the offering!
“Therefore, I urge you…in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what’s God’s will is – his…pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-2)

STEP OUT
Part two of the series: “THE JOURNEY OF FAITH”

Jesus called Peter to step out of his everyday life.
“As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him.” (Matthew 4:18-20)

Jesus called Peter to step out into the impossible.
“Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. ‘It’s a ghost,’ they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’ ‘Lord, if it’s you,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’ ‘Come,’ he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?’ And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.” (Matthew 14-22-32)

Jesus called Peter to step back into relationship with Him.
“When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ he said, ‘you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my lambs.’ Again Jesus said, ‘Simon son of John, do you truly love me?’ He answered, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Take care of my sheep.’ The third time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ He said, ‘Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my sheep.’” (John 21:15-17)

One Thing to Remember: The Journey of Faith begins as we step into a relationship with Jesus Christ.”

It’s important to hear and recognize God’s voice.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27 NASB)

God see’s what we do with less before He gives us more.
“His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'” (Matthew 25:23)

We all have something we can give.
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 NKJV)
